Usually best way to find works you like, and learn media you like, to find people who are supportive and with simmilar intrests as yours, and to share your work is to join a club.  The purpose of the series of these articles is to give spotlight to awesome traditional clubs around as well as their members.  Clubs are frequently wonderfull source of resource on techniques and mediums, and a central point of number of community activities and discussions.
